The care team wants to join God in changing lives through humbly extending Christ’s compassion to those facing life’s challenges through prayer, sharing, mentoring, counseling and/or benevolent giving. By God’s grace, we desire to be a Christ-centered ministry for all people where the power of the gospel, both by word and deed, is continually transforming lives.
If you are going through a difficult time, we have a place for you. There are many different care and support resources available that provide connection to and support from people who know exactly what you are going through.
Door Creek’s DivorceCare seminar and support groups are led by people who understand that you are going through one of life’s most difficult experiences and having gone through it themselves want to help you find help, discover hope and experience healing. Our goal is that you'll learn more about how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.
GriefShare is a seminar and support group for people grieving the death of someone close. GriefShare features Christian pastors, counselors and experts on grief’s various facets discussing topics from a biblical perspective. Sessions are combined with confidential support group discussion and a manual designed for your personal reflection and journaling. It is led by people who understand that you are going through one of life’s most devastating experiences and are here to help you on your journey from mourning to joy. Whether your loss is recent, or the pain is still overwhelming long after, you are welcome.
GriefShare's Loss of Spouse is an outreach seminar designed to offer hope and practical help to the widowed. Explore and discuss the effects of grief, the unpredictability of grief, the challenges of grief and get help finding a path forward.
Care Givers are trained individuals who have responded to Christ’s call to “carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the mission of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). They provide confidential, one-on-one, Christ-centered care for those hurting and going through major life changes through listening, prayer and Bible-based encouragement. Care Receivers are matched with a Care Giver. They are individuals experiencing loneliness, discouragement, a faith crisis or major life change such as divorce, loss of a loved one, retirement, unemployment, childbirth, hospitalization or terminal illness. Informational meetings take place each summer, with training August–December.
Giving Hope is a faith-based support group for people who love someone with addiction or mental illness. We gather together to share our struggles, how God helps us get through the ups and downs and spend time in prayer for each other.
