My wife, Solvei, and I moved to Madison in 1995 for her to attend graduate school and it quickly became home to us. We have both enjoyed living and serving in the Madison Community. I taught Mathematics at La Follette High School from 1995 to 2023. Solvei is a nurse at two elementary schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District. We live on the east side of Madison where we raised our three (now adult) children, Eili, Espen and Cora.
We started attending Door Creek Church the summer of 2002 just before our youngest (Cora) was born. I have enjoyed being a part of what God is doing at Door Creek Church through leading a Men's Bible Study starting around 2012, as well as hosting a Care Group with Solvei in our home. I have enjoyed the journey that God has led me through from getting a foundation in Christianity in my home as a child to making my commitment to follow Jesus as an adult starting in college attending Bible studies when I was 22. Then, continuing to grow through Christians that God has brought into my life, it evolved into leading Bible Studies and eventually led me to get a Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
I look forward to continuing my journey in God's Kingdom interacting with people in my community and continuing to serve at Door Creek Church.
