Darla Perry
Elementary Coordinator - DeForest
Being a missionary kid, serving in ministry became a natural way of life. From the time I was very young, I followed my mother’s very famous Kid and Youth Ministry footsteps, where I learned by example and started teaching those younger than me in Awana and Sunday School.
My husband, Tim Perry, and I began attending Door Creek Church in September 2004. I served on the worship team, led small groups in women’s ministry and co-founded the support ministry, Giving Hope. When the first multi-site campus of Door Creek Church started meeting at the DeForest High School in 2011, we jumped on board and Tim made his magic happen in sound while I served on the worship team. In 2017, God led Tim to a new technical director position at another church. In 2018, God led me back into Kid’s Ministry, where I taught music in their VBS and Sunday School programs, directed Youth Ministries and got back to my roots as an Awana Ministry Director. In January 2024, Tim took a job leading campus production back at the DeForest Campus. It has been wonderful to be back among our Door Creek Church family! Thankfully, our former church has allowed me to continue directing the Awana program, where I am privileged to continue discipling 80 children and 22 leaders from five different churches to learn about Jesus and seal God’s Word in their hearts.
In March 2025, I was approached to expand my focus on child discipleship and took a position at the DeForest Campus as the Elementary Coordinator. I am so excited that God has brought me alongside the amazing team at DCC to “Change the Kids’ Lives to Change the World Around Them!”
