Jamie Thompson
Lead Pastor
Jamie Thompson serves as lead pastor at Door Creek Church. His primary responsibilities are to preach, pray, lead and love in our church family’s shared pursuit to be a Christ-centered church for all people where the power of the gospel is continually transforming lives, renewing our city and changing the world.
Jamie grew up in Green Bay (Go Packers!) and has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the UW (Go Badgers!). He received his M.Div. at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and his D.Min. at Denver Seminary. Jamie served as a youth pastor for 17 years and an executive pastor for seven years before transitioning to his current role in 2023. Jamie is passionate about nature as a great place for us to grow spiritually, is excited to equip moms and dads and help families grow in faith in Christ and he loves serving with our amazing staff and stewardship board both inside and outside the walls of the church building.
Jamie and Molly haven been married since 2003 and have three kids–Sam, Autumn and Evie. The Thompsons delight in hiking and camping and traveling–they are slowly working their way through the National Parks (57 down, 6 to go!). Their family enjoys bleacher time cheering on tennis, soccer and dance, and evenings filled with board games, backyard campfires or binge watching Survivor. Jamie finds great joy in reading, deep conversations with friends, morning coffee and date nights with Molly.
