Serve Our City

Local Community Outreach

The mission of the local Community Outreach Ministry is to engage our Door Creek Church community in relational service to improve the quality of life for all people in Dane County. Our focus is serving the most vulnerable children and families. Our dream is to see the entire Door Creek Church community serving together to empower and encourage people right here in our city. We’re doing that by inviting everyone to choose a Community Outreach initiative to get involved.

Door Creek on Mission

Door Creek on Mission Grants

At Door Creek Church, our mission is joining God in changing people into devoted followers of Christ who change the world with His love. We have a long history of serving our community, and we believe that one of the ways we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ is to actively love God and love our neighbors.

There are many opportunities to live missionally right where you are, by engaging in acts of love and service toward your neighbors and those in need around you. We have directed some of our Community Outreach budget towards Door Creek on Mission Grants—funds (up to $200) available to help you, help others.

The idea is simple.

Maybe you have a neighbor who needs groceries or medicine that you can buy for them. Or you want to stock a bunch of backpacks with supplies and activities for kids experiencing homelessness. Or you want to pass out some great evangelistic material in your neighborhood.

The THREE main criteria are:
  1. The project needs to involve you and others serving—the grant money must be used for supplies, not for directly giving to people or organizations.
  2. The project needs to be focused on our value of Compassionate Service: humbly extending Christ’s compassion, justice and mercy in the wide variety of ways that can be done in Jesus’ name.
  3. The project is intended for participation by Door Creek Church members.

Fill out an application and a member of the Missions Ministry Team will follow up with you. If approved, you will be able to submit your receipts for reimbursement of the funds spent. Go and be the hands and feet of Jesus!

Encouraging Educators

At Door Creek Church, we love teachers and school staff and want to support them as they work hard to provide a quality education for all students. We encourage all of our Life Groups, families, or individual volunteers to take part in our Encouraging Educators program. Groups can support their educator in a variety of ways both in and outside of the classroom. Ideas, training and support are provided to make this a valuable experience for all.
