World Relief’s history of working with churches in Rwanda began when responding to the causes and after-effects of the 1994 Genocide. As World Relief’s work has transitioned from emergency relief to economic, social and health development programs, the church has been engaged throughout.
With the partnership of Door Creek Church and other churches around the world, World Relief envisions establishing new Church Empowerment Zones to continue mobilizing interdenominational groups of local churches in specific geographic areas in Rwanda to sustainably transform their communities through combined ministries of word and deed.
