Life Events

IT ALL MATTERS.

Our Christian life is a journey and along the way there are certain milestones and markers. Some of these times are full of joy, while others are of sorrow or grief. Sometimes they are big and momentous like a baptism, wedding or funeral. It all matters. Let us join you in honoring these life events.

The links below give details about these milestones and support of pastoral care.

Baptism

We believe baptism is an important step in publicly proclaiming your faith in Jesus Christ and committing your life to Him. We believe Christ has commanded us in Matthew 28:19 to “…make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” Although baptism is not necessary for salvation, it symbolizes the new life you began when you started following Jesus.

We can’t wait to see you all there to celebrate the new members of God’s kingdom!

INFANT/CHILD DEDICATION

For babies and young children, check out our Parent Child Dedication.

Parent Child Dedication

The Parent Child Dedication is a special ceremony in which parents make public their commitment to train their children to know, love and follow Jesus. In front of their family, friends and church, parents recognize their roles as spiritual leaders in the home and stewards of their children and ask for God’s wisdom and guidance as they embark or continue on their parenting journey.

Prior to each ceremony, an informational meeting for parents is offered to prepare them for participation in the ceremony. For more information on upcoming dedication opportunities, please fill out the following form.

Weddings

The Bible begins with a wedding in the Garden of Eden where God walks His daughter Eve to meet her husband Adam. This shows us that it is God who created marriage and it is God who sustains marriage.

At Door Creek Church, we believe a God-honoring marriage goes well beyond the wedding day. We are committed to helping you plan and experience a wonderful wedding and a healthy and loving gospel-centered marriage. Here's the step-by-step of the process:

  1. Submit the Wedding Application for Bride/Groom
  2. Read, sign and submit the DCC Wedding Guidelines
  3. Meet with Executive Pastor
  4. Sign and submit the Wedding Contract and deposit payment
  5. Meet with officiating Pastor
  6. Meet with Marriage Mentors (4-6 times)
  7. Meet with the Wedding Coordinator 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding
  8. Submit final payment 30 days prior to the wedding
  9. Rehearsal
  10. Wedding!

If you have any questions or would like to tour our venues, please email Dana Baugh, Guests Ministry Assistant, or call directly at 608.222.8586, ext. 267.

Funerals

We know that those who love Jesus will experience an eternity of joy in Heaven. While we celebrate that fact, we can't help but grieve our own earthly loss. Door Creek Church welcomes you in your time of loss and will walk alongside you as you honor the life of your loved one. For information on funerals, contact the church directly at 608.222.8586 or email Deb Miller.
